“Take a Letter, Maria.”
R. B. Greaves, who sang “Take a Letter, Maria,” has died, according to the New York Times. I loved this song as a teenager, because I loved how it was a man asking his secretary to take dictation, before it turns into that man asking his secretary out on a date. It might be the only truly sweet song about sexual harassment in the workplace.
Also, as an aside, why is the audience all tableau’d out?
